Tour Route: Cruise Port – Pisa Tower – Florence – Gelato Stop – Cruise port
This Italy shore excursion takes you on a cultural journey through Tuscany, exploring the historic cities of Pisa and Florence. Begin with a visit to Pisa’s Miracle Square, home to the iconic Leaning Tower, the Baptistery and the Duomo. You’ll have the option to climb the tower for stunning views.
Next, travel to Florence, the heart of the Renaissance. Take in a panoramic view from Michelangelo Square, visit Santa Croce Church, and explore landmarks like the Duomo, Giotto’s Bell Tower, Signoria Square, and the Ponte Vecchio. Cruise passengers have free time for shopping, dining, or visiting the Accademia Museum to see Michelangelo’s David (advance tickets recommended). End the day with a delicious gelato before returning to Livorno.

The tour begins with a pickup right in front of your cruise ship at Livorno Port. Your driver will greet you and provide a brief overview of the day's itinerary before departing for the first stop, Pisa.
Explore Pisa & Piazza dei Miracoli (1 hour)
After a 30-minute scenic drive, you will arrive in Pisa, a historic city that was once a thriving Roman settlement and later flourished during the Medieval period. The highlight of Pisa is the Piazza dei Miracoli (Square of Miracles), where you will explore three architectural masterpieces:

Depart for Florence
Leaving Pisa, the journey continues with a one-hour drive to Florence, the cultural heart of Tuscany and one of the most significant historical cities in the world.
Michelangelo Square (Piazzale Michelangelo) (30 minutes)
The first stop in Florence is Michelangelo Square, where you will enjoy a panoramic view of the city. From this vantage point, take in breathtaking sights of Florence’s red-tiled rooftops, the Arno River, and its iconic landmarks.
Santa Croce Square & Basilica (1 hour)
Next, you will head to Santa Croce Square, home to numerous artisan leather shops and the famous Santa Croce Basilica. This church serves as the final resting place of some of Italy’s greatest minds, including Michelangelo, Galileo Galilei, and Ugo Foscolo. Entry to the basilica is optional (€8 per person).
Accademia Gallery (Optional Visit)
If you wish, your driver can take you to the Accademia Gallery, where you can marvel at Michelangelo’s David, one of the most renowned sculptures in the world. To avoid long queues, tickets should be pre-purchased for a noon entry (note: the museum is closed on Mondays).

You will have free time to enjoy lunch at a local restaurant (not included in the tour price). Your driver can recommend excellent spots to taste authentic Tuscan cuisine. Afterward, you can explore Florence’s renowned leather and gold shops for unique souvenirs.
Before heading back to Livorno, you will stop at one of Florence’s best gelato shops to enjoy a delicious Italian treat.
Depart for Livorno
Relax on the 1-hour return drive as you reflect on your day exploring Tuscany’s rich history, art, and culture. Arrive back at your cruise ship with plenty of time before departure, bringing back unforgettable memories of Pisa and Florence.
