Your adventure begins early in the morning as your professional, bilingual guide meets you at a central location in Barcelona. After a brief introduction and overview of the day's activities, you will board a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle for a scenic 90-minute drive through the Catalan countryside toward Montserrat.
Arrival at Montserrat Balloon Launch Site

Upon arrival at the launch zone, located near the Montserrat mountain range, you will witness the impressive process of balloon inflation. You are invited to assist the balloon crew in preparing the balloon for flight, a fun and engaging experience that brings you closer to the adventure. As the balloon slowly rises and takes shape, your excitement builds in anticipation of the journey to come.
Hot Air Balloon Flight Over Montserrat

You will board the balloon basket alongside up to 12 fellow adventurers and gently lift off the ground. Over the next 60 to 90 minutes, depending on weather and wind conditions, you will float peacefully above the stunning Montserrat mountain range. From this aerial vantage point, you can take in breathtaking views of the serrated peaks, verdant valleys, and the iconic Montserrat Monastery below. This moment offers a sense of serenity and awe, perfect for photography and deep reflection.
Balloon Landing and 4WD Pick-Up

As your flight concludes, the balloon gradually descends and lands in a safe open area. A 4WD vehicle will be waiting to collect you and return you to the launch site. During the short drive, you can relax and share your experience with fellow guests.
Transfer to Montserrat Monastery

Your guide will then drive you to the Montserrat Monastery, one of the most significant religious and cultural sites in Catalonia. Nestled into the cliffside at over 700 meters above sea level, the monastery is a true architectural marvel. Construction of the site began in the 10th century, and it continues to be a working monastery with more than 150 monks in residence.
Guided Tour of Montserrat Monastery

Upon arrival at the Monastery, your guide will take you on a detailed walking tour through its most notable features, including the Royal Basilica and the statue of La Moreneta (The Black Madonna), patron saint of Catalonia. You’ll learn about the monastery’s foundation, its role in Catalan identity, and the miracles and legends that make it one of Spain’s most important pilgrimage sites. Depending on the day and season, you may be lucky enough to hear the angelic voices of Escolania de Montserrat, one of Europe’s oldest boys’ choirs.
Free Time for Refreshments and Souvenirs

After the guided portion of your visit, you will have some personal time to enjoy the surroundings. You may wish to explore the monastery’s shops, enjoy a coffee or snack at the café, or simply take in the panoramic views of the valley below. Return to Barcelona
At the end of the tour, you will return to your private transport for the journey back to Barcelona. During the 90-minute drive, you can rest, enjoy the views, or chat with your guide about the history and culture of Catalonia. You will be dropped off at your hotel or original meeting point in the early afternoon.
